TRIGANDA ORGANISATION

In the weekend of October 26 & 27, 2002 the TRIGANDA ORGANIZATION will hold a gothic/fantasy event at the Darling Market, Volmerlaan 12 in Rijswijk (near the Hague), Netherlands.
This event consists of a gothic/ fantasy fair and a gothic festival

The fair will be from 10.00 until 18.00; during the fair there will be all kinds of theater companies, trading card games, a witches' café, lectures and book signings by famous authors and witches.

Saturday evening the festival takes place from 20.00 to 04.00 o'clock. The following acts will give acte de présence: COVENANT, FUNKER VOGT, HAUJOBB, STOA and ANGELS & AGONY. There will also be a fashion show.

Tickets for the fair will be sold at the Darling Market. Costs are only €5, --. The festival tickets are €22,50 and can be ordered at www.ticketservice.nl

Stunned as we were to find out that the Netherlands had their own little Wave Gotik Treffen we deemed it time to ask the organization some questions. Especially when they stated on their own site: www.triganda.com that this fair and festival are only the beginning of all the ideas TRIGANDA ORGANISATION has. Raymunda finds some time, in between all the preparations, to answer our questions.

The first project of your organization is remarkable, a fair for two days and a festival with bands like: Covenant, Funker Vogt, Haujobb, STOA and Angels & Agony… When did you decide to organize this? And why?

We decided last year that we were going to do the event this year; we always wanted to have a festival of our own.

If you look at how it's presented it sounds a bit like a small Wave Gotik Treffen, not just music, but also a fair with a lot of different things… Do you believe that there are enough people in the Netherlands that are interested in this?

We believe there are enough people here in Holland that are interested in this kind of event. There are a lot of people from Holland who go to the Wave Gothic Treffen in Germany so we can have a small one here. We put a little Fantasy in so it is much easier accessible.

Can you tell us more about what to expect on the fair?
We have a fair with a choice of artifacts from different countries; and there are the games that you can play on the fair, Warhammer and Mage Knight, and card games. Claudia van der Sluis is a famous witch here in Holland; she comes to sign her new book and Irina Tudor from Romania shall give a lecture. We also organized a witches' café. For the children we have some workshops where they can make their own Halloween things.
Then there are the medieval sword fighters and gladiators.

Why did you decide to start the Triganda Organization? And what are your goals?
We have had this on our minds for several years so we have done a lot of research and started the whole thing. We want to do this every year. We already have a plan for next year.

What are your ideas for the future?
We want to grow bigger each year. Maybe our own Wave Gothic Treffen here in Holland.

How do you arrange all this financially? Do you have sponsors, subsidies or do you have to do it with your own money?
We have done this event with our own money and we hope we will come out with some profit.

What gothic parties and fantasy fairs did you visit before you had the idea to combine this on your own Triganda festival?
We have done our research on the Wave Gothic Treffen and the Elf Fantasy Fair. We also went to a lot of gothic parties here in Holland.

You were already in the business of organizing events and festivals. Did this make it easier to contact the bands and organize the fair?
It is true that when you have experience organizing events and festivals it is a bit easier to do this; but it is still a lot of work and a big risk.

Are the bands that are playing on the 26th of October the bands you had hoped for? Why?
We first booked Frontline Assembly as our main act, but they don't play any more after the performance at the Wave Gothic Treffen (FLA appeared with a Bill Leeb lookalike on stage - Beautevil).

You had some comments on the pussy pictures (not those, the animal ones… - B.) on your site… Why this instead of your own pictures?
We thought it was funny to be unknown and let the people come to our event without knowing who we are. So we hope they come because it is a good fair and festival, then we have reached what we want.

What are the five acts (exclucding the current ones on the festival) that you would like to book next time?
We have a big list of bands for next time, but we also wait for new CD's.

Something you still want to say, because we forgot to ask…
We hope that after the event a lot of people shall say that they had a very good time. Then we are satisfied.
