The Japanese trio Electric Eel Shock has come with a new album “Transworld Ultra Rock”. Just like on the other albums you can hear the influence from Black Sabbath, The Cult, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction, and Motorhead. On the previous albums “Go Europe”and “Beat me” you heard catchy tunes, “Transworld Ultra Rock” is more diverse and combines the best elements of stonerrock, punk and metal.
I was blown away when I was listening to this album. The song “I can’t hear you” is a great opening song and gets you immediately in a good mood! The guitar riffs on “Big mistake” and “Dice de try” are in one word excellent. | |
I am not a big fan of covers but the cover “Loving you” from Minnie Ripperton is an adrenalin charged track that you have to listen.
If you did not know Electric Eel Shock you just have to give this cd a try. Every song has got something fresh and different. And if you get the chance to see them live on stage then you have to go and see this band. Particulary the drummer who uses four drumsticks and don’t like to play with his clothes on!
