I can be short here. A new cd from ‘New Leading Lights’ (words from the Bio) Decapitated. ‘The Negation’ it is called. It is the third album from these positive thinkers. They gave us already Winds Of Creation and Nihility. Some albums where the so-called Decapitated sound was created.

The Negation is a CD full of cool death metal riffs, a singer with a cool grunt (this is the way I like grunts! I don’t like Chris Barnes alike grunts) and a drummer that definitely can blast. The music is not only brutal, but also pretty complex. They certainly know how to play their instruments and how to create some brutal but at the same time catchy and technical parts.

With songs like “Three-Dimensional Defect”, “Sensual Sickness” and “The Negation” they prove death metal isn’t always that conventional type of music. There is progression in this genre, and they prove it with this CD.

What makes this CD so cool are the short high sounding riffs which draw some comparison to the new school hardcore corner like As I Lay Dying and The Agony Scene. Maybe some metalcore fans will also dig this album, because of the brutal voice and sound. The production is good, and with that, there is no excuse not to buy this album as a death metal fan.
